About Us

Hearts of Music Foundation is a registered organization in Nigeria (CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION REGISTRATION NUMBER 7944463). It is a not-for-profit and non-political charity organization which is formed by distinguished individuals who are passionate about giving back to their society by providing musical training, avenues for performances and instruments to young people, the physically challenged and the vulnerable in the society.

Its objectives are to:
1. Equip young people (able-bodied and challenged) with the skill of playing at least one musical instrument which would help them if they decide in the future to take a career in music;
2. Use music to mold the minds of young people into being socially responsible and vocation-sensitive at an early life with an ultimate goal to reducing the increasing rate of youths’ involvements in crime and engender safer communities;
3. Reduce the negative effect of school dropout syndrome among youths by channeling their energies into a vocation as socially and culturally relevant as music;
4. Reduce social issues like youth restiveness, insecurity, illegal transnational migration.

To achieve these set goals, this foundation has the Hearts of Music Brass Band (HOMBb). It is reasoned that equipping these young people with skill and providing them with the avenues to perform will keep them busy. Thus, apart from acquiring or enhancing their skills through practice/performance, we will also be rescuing some youths who would have ordinarily embraced crime from doing so and making them engage in socially relevant acts.
